It's crazy I know, but finally after 3 years of running and training for several marathons and runs I have just discovered the joy of interval. However I am not entirely sure I am doing it right. While doing HIIT, is it better to get your HR right down to almost resting? At the moment during the rests mine is still pumping away at around 150-154 BPM before I take it up to around 165-170. Despiste all the articles online and in mags I have just been a runner, who has gone out with a set millage or time in mind and ran. Not really bothered with speed of hill work. If anyone has any good workouts then let us know. I have to admit I am doing all my speed at the gym due to the ease of being able to control it better.

Hi, I know its nearly a year since you posted. Just wondered how you are getting on and if you have any answers yet. I have a very low RHR of 38 and my heart rate soon rockets up when I do a run. I also do intervals but my rate seems to drop from about 155 to 110 in about a minute or two.
