Reading the book 'Born to Run' also struck a cord as Gary found he could relate to the infamous Caballo Blanco's reasons for running. Gary also turned to running in a bid to improve his health and shift some weight, after he tipped the scales at about 18st. Now, a trim 11st 10lbs and with a marathon PB of 3.22 under his belt Gary is proof that runners truely can, and do, get better with age.
