Does anybody where a head torch ? It's pretty dark where I live, not many street lights etc and toying with getting one, just wondering how much a decent one would cost

I recently bought an Alpkit Gamma headtorch (cost £12.50 and delivered within 2 days) and think that it is excellent, although I've been told that the batteries don't last very long with the full beam (and back led light) on.

I've used a number of head torches and currently run with the Silva Trail Runner Headlamp which I really like the lamp is on the front and the batterys are on the back which makes it really well balanced.
The beam is strong and wide enough to see more than just where your running, it's a great product imho

Keep an eye on ebay for cheap deals.

I love running in the dark with a headtorch - makes the run far more focussed as you can only see those few feet ahead of you.

I too have a Alpkit Gamma bought recently, very impressed large range of functions, very bright, excellent for the price. Not used it for running yet but used it for everything else(walking, reading in bed, motorbike rally in Feb) much better than the Petzl Tikka (£30)its replaced.

Petzl make some good ones, they are about £20+ or so, I've used them for running and Mountain Rescue, for outdoor activities Petzl are the benchmark. Petzl are adjustable, comfortable, durable and an assortment of colours, can't fault them!
You can buy cheaper but be careful, not always a bargain, comfortable, easy to use or durable.
Take a look at on-line outdoor/camping sites or your local outdoor store.
